Still trying

Well at least you can see half of the Lei ring in the previous post, thinking perhaps a new template to give me more space on the page. I guess I will just try again some other time or, of course, always can call the girl for help!

Teresa Wilder does seem a bit large, but a beauty none the less!

Ahhhhhhhh Summer & Plumeria

Spring is gone and the heat of summer has set in these last three weeks. The plumeria love it and are starting to reward me with blooms. I always want more, greedy as I am! I picked a few blooms this morning to fill my lei ring labeled them. It is always nice to see them displayed this way as you can really see the different sizes of blooms, not always easy when photographed on the plant surrounded by leaves. Some blooms are just huge, almost the size of your hand, while others are really very tiny but so vibrant in color. The first Plumeria Society of America sale for this year is a week from Saturday and everyone is quite excited to see what the different growers have to offer this year. We even have people coming from out of state to attend. There is a whole convoy coming from Florida, someone from Louisiana and several all the way from California, just to attend the sale. Just goes to show how addicting these beautiful blooms can be.

Blooms past

In the Garden

The real reason I started this blog was to document/share some of the plumeria blooming "out back". The collection has grown over the last 4-5 years and frankly outgrown the back yard and almost the garage for winter storage! As warm as it is here in S. Texas you just never know when we may have freezing temperatures during the winter months and Tropicals just don't like it. The trees are leafing out, inflos beginning and a few are actively blooming.

Senior Sushi @ Soma

A long overdue dinner for Ryan's High School graduation (May '07!) finally came to fruition. We timed it to include a visit from Emily so our party would be complete. We visited a new (to us) sushi restaurant call Soma with a great menu, nice atmosphere and very cool background background music. We over did it on the ordering and came home with a nice box of left overs, they didn't last long as Ryan polished them off the very next day. All in all, we had a great time and plan to return soon I hope.
